About Our Kempo Jujitsu Grappling Program

The Modern Defense Institute has developed a Kempo Karate Jujitsu program that focuses on practical self-defense, discipline and awareness, while instilling confidence, respect and developing self-esteem. This is an ideal program for children to learn practical self-defense skills in a challenging yet fun environment.

Our Kempo Jujitsu Grappling program emphasizes the traditional values of respect, honor, integrity, courtesy and morality, while using modern teaching methods and curriculum.

Our number one priority is to ensure the personal safety of all our students.

Course Description

MDI's Kempo Jujitsu Grappling program is designed to give the students the tools they need to prevail in physical confrontations in the real world and not just in the Dojo or tournament ring. With our curriculum, students will have a solid foundation of long, medium and short range fighting, as well as grappling and groundfighting.

We have combined the following techniques into our course to give our students the full complement of tools necessary to take care of themselves in a real world conflict.
  • Striking techniques
  • Throws and takedowns
  • Joint locks
  • Restraint techniques

While our students do attend tournaments and have success at them, we view tournaments as a training tool and not the fundamental reason for training. Our primary reason for training is, and will continue to be, to teach our students how to defend themselves in the real world and give them the security of knowing they are confident in their ability to take care of themselves.
